Capturing the soul and essence of your cherished pet

Why Commission a Portrait of Your Pet?

A portrait of your pet is more than that, it’s something much deeper, it’s deeper and more meaningful to the connection you have between you and your special furry friend. One client said “it was like our Indi had come home”, another said that their painting was better than a photograph as their Roxy was coming out of the painting to great them, and that how I managed to capture her softness without even meeting her.

The reason for this is that I work with people whose passion for their pets resonates with mine. This connection inspires me to create something that speaks to you each time you look at it, something that greets you, comforts you and speaks to your heart every time you see it.

Pets fill our lives with joy, comfort, and unforgettable memories. They’re not just companions—they’re family. That’s why I pour so much care into capturing their spirit, softness, and personality. My goal is for your portrait to feel alive, as though your pet is truly gazing back at you.

The Process: What Happens Next?

Your passion for your pet is what inspires me to create something truly special. When you share your stories, it tells me so much about your bond—who your pet is, how they move through the world, and what makes them irreplaceable in your life. This connection between human and furry companion feels almost spiritual, and it’s a big part of why I pour so much care into every portrait.

I take the time to study the photos you send and to talk with you about their personality, their quirks, and the little traits that make them who they are. For me, this isn’t just about creating a likeness—it’s about getting to know your pet on a deeper, more intimate level.

I try to build a connection, imagining your pet as if they were my own. By fully immersing myself in their unique character, I’m able to create a portrait that captures far more than their appearance. My aim is to reveal their true spirit, so when you see the finished piece, you feel them there with you

  • Best birthday present ever

“When I heard Ruth speak about her portraits and saw some examples, I knew a portrait of our dog could be the best birthday present ever for my wife. I wasn’t wrong!
Ruth was brilliant from start to finish. Regularly keeping me updated and checking that I was happy with the progress, and that the finished portrait had the desired effect. My wife burst into tears when she opened the wrapping. I couldn’t recommend Ruth and her portrait service enough!”
